A nice rise in temps both day and night now and should increase the CET quite a lot during the next week or so.

Rising nicely now and hopefully it will keep going up while I'm in the heat of the Caribbean.

I've calculated the CET to be bang on 12 to the 17th. After this who knows which way it will go. It could finish 10,11,12, or 13! Good luck to everyone's estimation's this month.

I'm getting the feeling almost everyone has gone to low with their predictions this month and this may ends up around 14c+

Any chance of the table of predictions GW?

On another forum... Which shall remain nameless... People are saying next week is looking much cooler and there are even suggestions that after tomorrow we may not see 20c again until June! I am kind of hoping that is true as would do well for my prediction. I do kind of think we are overdue a proper crazy hot May though - it is utterly bizarre that we have not had one over 14c since the 19th century and the closest we have come has been 1992/2008, given that so many other months have absolutely smashed their previous records in the last 20/30 years.

10.4C (+0.5C) here - will go down a bit the next week or so.
We have had plenty of decidedly cool nights so far.

The ECM is painting quite a warm picture from the middle of next week after a cool few days. At the moment my calculations give 12.5ish for the first 2/3 of May. If the last 3rd was a warm 14c that would still only give 13c overall. The GFS looks a bit cooler overall. However if we get the Azores high putting the Jet north next week above 13c might not be out of the question.

I think the date record is 16.9 for the mean on the 8th May. If so it looks under threat.

Hadley has 18.0C for the 8th provisionally and 18.2C for the 9th.

My estimate is 17.9C for the 8th and 18.0C for the 9th.

So I think we do have two date records this month already.
