I've only been recording rainfall since the end of November, but another 3mm of rain today and this will be my wettest day on record.

The odd very distant rumble here today - the latest from the Stoke direction. Blitzortung is handy for seeing where those crackles on the radio are coming from, and if it's worth me going outside to listen!

Heavy rain very close now, and skies dark. Not much in the way of electrical activity in it, but it's growing all the time as it trundles this way. It's lovely and oppressive out there!

Lovely thunder storms here this afternoon for a couple of hours.  Started just before 3pm and the rain has just about stopped.  The lightning radar showed the main cell a mile or so West of us.

Just had a downpour here that dropped 12mm in as many minutes! No thunder - Radar was showing rain rates in excess of 50mm/hr. I've seen electrical activity out of lesser radar echoes!

Heavy rain from a convergence line that has developed over N. England, with a few flashes of lightning and thunder thrown in for good measure. Quite a few storms have also fired in central areas further south as well.
