I imagine that Worthing and Brighton will be getting occasional deep distant rumbles from the activity in the Channel ...

Some sun this evening but gorgeous Plumey skies to my South & southeast with anvils.

Eastbourne looks like the place to be in the next couple of hours. As expected the really intense stuff is firing over the low countries, but lots of activity also bubbling up in the Channel heading for far SE.

Should be rumbling well in Brighton now as a new cell has electrified just to the south

Sky looking darkening and posessed to my south - looks like it could be the real deal for some.

It's started. Forks and deep booming thunder. Mostly over the sea, though, with the rain missing us for now.

Clump of electrified cells mid channel  heading this way - Moot point whether they reach here, if they do will probably be gone midnight

Enjoy it, those favoured few in the SE - some real humdingers over the channel/France

Can confirm distant rumbling heard from Worthing!

Okay it's now raining and the radar has nothing within 20 miles of me... Also heard a distant rumble.

Not a breath of wind here on the Sussex Downs, yet the clouds are scudding by fairly quickly in a very confused and jumbled looking grey/yellow sky. Rumbles of thunder not too far away too-here's hoping for an interesting night!

Heavy shower with a few rumbles, mostly in the distance. But there's been a stunning rainbow across the sky for most of it, and saw a nice lightning bolt right where the pot of gold is!

Edit: make that a LOT of distant rumbles to the south! Shower overhead has nearly passed.

Ian are you there. Quite an active cell heading towards you, and looks apocalyptic out to your east.
