No rumbles here but plenty of heavy showers rattling around. I like days like this, even if they are not very useable!

I've had some big showers today here. One woke me up at about 12:30 (I work nights lol ) with torrential rain and blustery winds that was hitting the window. I've not heard any thunder today though.

It seems to me that after a few lean years we have had more than our fair share of thunderstorms recently!

There was a real downpour yesterday afternoon which caused an early end to the first trade day at the Farnborough Airshow - the power had to be turned off due to flooding in the arena.

Out of nowhere just came a ferocious downpour with rain rates pushing in excess of 100mm/phr

Within 3 minutes it when from sunny to flash flooding - seen better but still very impressive 😄😮💦💦

Must be a bad day for nervous flyers, planes from Luton barely skimming our house as they take a different route to avoid these large clouds
Flying very low !!

Heard 3 rumbles of thunder as a heavy shower approached a few minutes ago. It's still raining, although more lightly.

Skies became dark after 15.30 hours, followed by frequent rumbles of thunder, then torrential rain, plus little hail.

It must have been over 100mm per hour; our local Morrisons was flooded and closed.

Another pulse of heavy rain followed, but has now eased, at least for time being.

Kicking off to the south of here, rumbles of thunder.  Radar returns look very lively.
