At Agung? The seismic activity may have dropped in the last few days but in isolation that may not mean much. There is still steam being vented and some inflation.

AFAIK the status is still at the same level?

Thee is an interesting (translated) interview here from a couple of days ago http://ubudnowandthen.com/intv-mt-agung-volcanologist-devy-k-syahbana-241017/

The most powerful volcano in Iceland, situated under Europe's largest glacier- geographically interesting; potentially physically interesting too, or are those just Top Trumps statistics?

Agung has been producing the largest seismic episode of the event so Far over the past 4 or 5 hours. The Indonesian authorities are expecting the largest and most powerful eruption in this episode so far in the coming hours. Questions remain how the energy will be released. The last eruption in the 1960's was months of ongoing relatively large eruptions lasting a year, the latest seismic increase is of concern. No one can ever be sure of a volcano of this nature what it's about to do, but it's in an extremely volatile phase at this moment.

Interesting going on at Kilauea Volcano, Hawaii Big Island, at the moment.

Extract from USGS Volcanoes

Starting on the afternoon of Monday, April 30, 2018, magma beneath Pu‘u ‘Ō‘ō drained and triggered the collapse of the crater floor. Within hours, earthquakes began migrating east of Pu‘u ‘Ō‘ō, signaling an intrusion of magma along the middle and lower East Rift Zone. As of about noon on Wednesday, May 2, these earthquakes continue along the lower East Rift Zone, with many reports of earthquakes felt by residents in nearby subdivisions. On the map, the orange dashed line marks the approximate area within which most of the earthquakes are located based on automatic earthquake locations and analysis by seismologists. All earthquake locations are preliminary.

Puna residents reported to USGS-Hawaiian Volcano Observatory geologists the recent appearance of ground cracks on a couple of roads in and around Leilani Estates. No steaming or heat were observed to originate from the cracks, and the cracks are currently still small (no more than several inches across). These cracks result from deformation of the ground surface due to the underlying intrusion of magma.

I think that is a fair enough assessment but “random” rifting and the 6.9 quake yesterday shows it can be very dramatic nonetheless.

Agreed. Maybe not high on the list of global catastrophes, but you wouldn't want to be living next to it
