Horrible March corresponding 100% to my prediction of the worst possible outcome.

One frost so far, no double digit maxes, a totally wretched weekend with the 4th atrocious write-off Saturday out of six and the outlook is even worse. Pitiful, unpleasant and boring in the extreme. Nothing whatsoever to look forward to just complete and utter dross with day in day out of 7C temperatures, rain and grey skies to endureSick

Anything vaguely pleasant or interesting gets eroded completely yet the models stick to their guns on offering up yet another stinking Saturday. Another 5-10mm looking likely. It is just beyond the bounds of credulity. Would only be expecting 104mm of Saturday rainfall in an entire year yet the total for 2017 is already up to 55mm and this is on top of three years of substantially worse than average Saturday weather. So ridiculously awful it defies logical and rational explanation

Every year my hatred and contempt for this hell-hole grows and grows. Every year there is just less and less to enjoy and it feels like there could be nowhere on earth less desirable to live. Enduring this putrid unpleasant filth week in week out, which is akin to what might be expected in a climate with 3300mm of annual rainfall, it really is hard to see how it could continue to keep getting worse but no doubt it will.

I think it might have been a typo with an extra 3. Mind you, at 330 mm annually would give us 27 mm per month which is drier than average!

Was just watching the BBC weather for the week ahead Daily - By Nick Miller.

What frustrates me is the fact that confidence is still low and get's lower as we approach the cooler/colder snap/spell if there is one!? - A few days ago there was more confidence in both GFS and Met Office and BBC forecasts of a cold spell and northerly around middle of month - now as we will soon approach the 2nd week of March - there seems like there is less confidence that there was in the first week or end of Feb - despite it being closer to the more reliable time frame.

All those cold ensembles /gfs control and ecm ETC We all spent ages analysing and discussing was a waste of time really. Ensembles ...in fact all models have behaved very badly this winter. I just feel sorry for all on here. If we were to have cold and prolonged cold it should have happened in January when most of Europe (mostly southern and eastern) were in a deep freeze, we were very unlucky to be on the milder side of the blocking. I guess Brian's winter 16/17 forecast was as accurate as it could be in saying that there is a chance of cold weather around mid January. Just a shame it never really materialised and we were very unlucky as always.s

It's frustrating, not to mention all time consuming - especially to find out that every northerly has failed and easterly.

I really don't think it's worth taking any notice of the gfs RUN beyond 96hrs now - because even if they all point to cold, it will still never materialise and it's been the case all winter really. So what's the point of discussing the models if they always flip!? I would have thought we were in for some chance with the SW and SSW end of Jan and beginning of Feb but even now this looks unlikely. - Perhaps we need to see more milder runs in the GFS ensembles and eventually it will turn cold - Just the opposite.

Obviously, I expect moderations and downgrades or upgrades in the models but the fact that all haven't just been downgrades - they have been complete flip-flops makes it all that more frustrating really.

The Express is funny. I bet many reading that would be expecting a big freeze with blizzards and -11c from Mid-month when it's going to be very mild or warm mid-month now.
