Thank guy's, you really are so kind. I have a double appointment at hospital today, and hope to be able to post an update tonight.

Good to see you posting again - but not sure about the middle of the night!

I am afraid that the only news I have is bad. The MRI scan showed that the cancer has now spread to my spine. I need time to digest this.

I'm so sorry to hear this Dougie.

I can't begin to imagine what you're going through right now, the only solace I can think of to post is that you have a bunch of weirdos on the internet who are thinking of you and who genuinely care. 

Try and take care. You know where we are. 

Oh no Dougie!  I am so sorry to hear that.  Of course you need time to digest it, although I think you had your suspicions.  You know your body and you knew something wasn't right.  But to have that confirmed must be shattering news.  

There's I can say to make you feel better. I know you have to come to terms in your own time but please remember we're here for you.  You will need to get things off your chest, so please don't hold back.  

I'll be thinking about you.  Sending a big hug. X

Not good news Dougie.. Another cross to bear. Will cause more pain and maybe loss of movement  Something to endure .We shall be thinking of you whatever you do...

Ditto to what Steve & many others have said tonight, Dougie. We're all rooting for you at this awfully difficult time, and try to stay strong.

Next up, a CT scan on Wednesday, with the results next Monday.

Thanks to all the well wishers. It is a difficult time, and I will have to think long and hard as to my future. I have put any thoughts of getting a cat on hold for now.
