Don't know about thunder but just had a seriously intense cloud burst with sudden wind gusts and horrizontal rain.

Was just normal heavy frontal rain like it had been for a few hours and then BAM!! Not sure if it was hail or sleet mixed in it but there were fine ice pelletes on the sheltered parts.

Risk of more hail and thunder overnight/tomorrow.

Very heavy bursts now. Tomorrow looks like being the final fling for this terrible winter.

I hadn't realised there was such a temperature drop, but then I was indoors drying off, thankfully just missing the intense stuff by 10 minutes. 😃

The Bay of Biscay is an interesting place at the moment with extensive thundery activity.

Certainly a chance of thunder if things get going across the south today

first band spiralling into Hampshire now. Could be some quite intense downpours as the sun heats things up

After a bright start the first downpour arrived just after 9am. There was definite iciness in it but I don't know whether it was snow or hail in origin! Seemed quite solid so probably hail I guess.

Hail shower here right now, certainly showing the air is becoming unstable with the colder conditions.

At work we had a heavy thundery shower around 21:15, the first flash of probably four hit the power off momentarily, long enough to cock everything up machinery wise though, we also had a bit of sleet in the rain on the way home at 22:00.

Big hail shower just passed through. Left a slushy covering on cars and dropped the temp to 2c.

One potent hail shower passed through where I am currently in Lechlade, SE Glos. about an hour ago. Now some very pretty anvils visible against clear blue sky to the west.

Got a lengthy hail shower there - quite laid back though, hailing without much haste.
