Perhaps my final rant of the winter - Just heard John Hammond say (BBC 1 NEWS & WEATHER FORECAST, 6:30) - That "Had this sort of weather pattern occurred a month or so ago we could be in for some bitterly cold weather!." - Did anyone take note of this? - haha typical, we get no easterly all winter and it occurs in Spring - just typical, I knew it!!.

Anyway my conclusion for winter 2014/15 - another poor winter 1/10.

How are you coping with this crappy weather Richard? Easterly wind in Aberdeen 6c by day and 7c by night, overcast skies, doom n gloom?

You will get it soon - but had this weather pattern had occurred a few months ago it would have been a classic cold spell with Scandi high and potential snow flurries into eastern coasts by night and moving inland and westwards by day, daytime maxes of +2c and a wind chill of -5c etc!??

I would like a cold spell in winter - simple! Warm hot summers. - Thunder and lighting too! I only like seasons . I am just not happy the minute spring arrives - the minute we get a blocking Scandi HP with an easterly wind. We did have a minor easterly end of January but the HP was too far south and then toppled over into France as you can remember but it would have been nice to have this cold weather in Dec/Jan or Feb.
