You'll understand this bit Saint; I just want to walk down a snow covered footpath, confidently sure of foot, while others around me are slipping to their arses....just for the sheer hell of it
Heavy snow in Newquay and parts of mid Cornwall this afternoon.
Sent home from work

Things appear to be progressing nicely for the E and SE tonight. Reports of snow right on the NE coast at Scarborough, and the area that seems to be expanding inland is now delivering snow in Lincoln and Gainsborough. There appears to be a kink in the SLP in that region and some sort of weak convergence injecting enough lift to generate ppn as the whole area moves SSW.
Also good to see snow in balmy Cornwall this afternoon.

For those that have yet to see snow falling 😉...

There's an area of snow heading SW 'wards on Net radar towards Nottinghamshire now.
The Met text for the EM does say snow moving in land overnight giving a covering in places.

Maybe up to 5cm on Chilterns, Downs. Parameters are a safeish margin on the right side for snow even down on the SE coast, and interestingly even the buoys off the E coast are registering 0 dps.
I should also add that should the Wash Washer get going, we could see something a bit more substantial into the S Midlands and Home Counties.Watch and see what happens!
Okay, so it is already below freezing and DP is -3cThat means the snow showers heading this way will either a) fizzle out before they get here, b) come accompanied with much warmer air or, most likely, c) both ....
Light flurries just starting here.
-0c.
Light snow with some big flakes coming down.
EM weather going for heavy snow showers late Tuesday and Wednesday here.
So, a little light snow due tonight perhaps leaving a dusting before it gets washed away by slightly milder air tomorrow bringing that familiar rain/sleet/snow mix. The colder air will then return again bringing the threat of the snow returning during Wednesday and Thursday in the form of showers.
Moderate snow now and settling nicely.
Heavy snow now.
Lovely and white outside with a temp of -0c.
Keep us posted
It stopped now.
Maybe some more later.
keep an eye on the radar...and be grateful for what you've got
Snowing again tonight in Cornwall
Interesting to see some convection already pushing through East Anglia on a SSW trajectory - seems the flow has more of an easterly component to it than expected.
As the air mass from the North Sea pushes into the one over the UK, a weak 'bow line' of precipitation is developing. This could mean a surprise dusting for many parts of CS England if it holds together.
The number of models that have correctly resolved this feature?
ZERO.
