It has just started snowing lightly here a couple of miles north of Cambridge.

There are real proper flakes whizzing about, rather than the usual wet variety which land with a thud.

It is the first proper 'dry' snow I have seen IMBY for two years.

Showers starting to beef up a bit here now with a light covering on the grass at the mo.

Its dragging the temps down with its now 1.3C from 3C about an hour ago.

Would be interested to here if any of the guernsey folks on here have any reports

Snowed here for about 30 mins.  Covering over all surfaces.  Wasnt expecting this much, all we have had so far is wet snow lasting 10 minutes and gone 10 minutes later!!!!

Had some very light snow here in Newmarket, settled immediately!

Nice to see proper snow other than wet transitional rubbish. I think the worst of the snow has gone to the west of me which is a shame !

Interesting to see some convection already pushing through East Anglia on a SSW trajectory - seems the flow has more of an easterly component to it than expected.

As the air mass from the North Sea pushes into the one over the UK, a weak 'bow line' of precipitation is developing. This could mean a surprise dusting for many parts of CS England if it holds together.

The number of models that have correctly resolved this feature?

ZERO.

Perhaps this might justify the council making our roads look like the Sahara with the amount of grit they've put down over the last couple of days.

The precipitation also shows some signs of back-building against the NW wind. This element seems to have been overlooked by the latest Met Office precipitation projection maps... but then they don't bring more than a dusting as far west and south as the newly issued MO warnings so they might just be a bit behind on developments.
