It is a fascinating feature, with little in the way of surface wind shift suggesting that the change occurs at higher altitude.

The precipitation also shows some signs of back-building against the NW wind. This element seems to have been overlooked by the latest Met Office precipitation projection maps... but then they don't bring more than a dusting as far west and south as the newly issued MO warnings so they might just be a bit behind on developments.

It's holding together quite well actually. No huge totals but a good few places are getting a few cms of dry snow. Now just reaching the M4 and although I expect it to dissolve and contract a bit, I expect many locations East of Winchester to get a dusting or maybe more . Sweet spot may be N Surrey downs and maybe N Sussex.

Looks to be going slightly West of me here, though the area behind the main band may provide enough PPN to give us a covering here for the morning. Clearly this isn't taking into account any further showers coming this far inland later tonight/early tomorrow.

Looking relatively good for here!  Not started yet, but band seems close accordingly to radar, some heavier bursts just to my north.  Nice that it's non-marginal stuff too.... current temperature -1.9c.

Forget the BBC graphics - well out of touch!
I'm thinking our area of snow may even be expanding west more now. Could even give a dusting in Yate of all places.
