Early evening update - it's been above 30C outside for coming up to 8 hours, and above 35C for the past four hours or so (and no sign of it dropping yet, disappointingly).

35.3C outside.

24.5C in the living room (getting that colder air in early, plus leaving the windows and doors closed all day has really helped).

24.7C in my bedroom (with the portable a/c, partly in the hallway outside)

32.4C in the back bedroom with the weather station server, and goodness knows what in the other back bedroom - the a/c hose runs through there and I've pretty much sealed the room off. It'll be well over 35C though.

25c in our bedroom but thankfully the gusty east wind blows straight through the window making it very comfortable.

29.5 downstairs

30.5 upstairs

That's despite being kept closed from 9am.

Trouble was I could only get the temp down to 25.5c before it was on the up!

42.5c in the greenhouse.

Living room 35C, Hallway upstairs 36C, Bed 2 37C, Bed 1 35.1C and 37.7-8 Kitchen as I see it touched 100F as the furnace blast enter from outside via the door. All new records so far since I moved here. 35C the highest in my old house in Epsom when outside was 38C in August 2003.

Now cooling down nicely to 32-33C and expect to drop it more to mid 20's by morning so sleeping comfortable.

That would have been an extremely uncomfortable night - it's now 32.9C upstairs and 26.5C downstairs.

(The brickwork acts like a storage heater at times like this, and upstairs is essentially just a shed, hence the heat!)

I remember staying in a hotel in the UK about 15 or so years ago. It had quite nice air con - which was switched off overnight!
At least it will be mild!

Maxed at 30C upstairs yesterday. Now 26C, but still feels stuffy.

Hoping for gusty wind this morning before the temperature gets back to the mid 20s.

Ranging from 26C to 30C in bed 2 and 28.5C in bed 2.  Very pleasant now with windows shut since yesterday morning as outside is cold and cloudy.  Despite all this all the air vent slots on windows and 1 on the bed 2 wall are open for fresh air flowing.

27C to 28C. Anyone with less than that in their house is lucky.

My son has a coldwater fish tank in his bedroom and weirdly it was more difficult keeping the temp down in it yesterday than it was on Tuesday. I wonder if the house had stored the heat and was in the process of releasing it yesterday? Even with all the windows open and much cooler temps outside it hardly made a difference to the indoor temp.

Frozen bottles of water, water changes and a fan aimed at the tank kept the temp below 27C but it took some work. Thankfully downstairs remained cool throughout.

25-27C around the house surprising how it stay warm despite very cold weather outside for 2 days.   I had all the windows shutters installed last Friday and since it installed the house temps had no longer drop a lot at nights as the shutters keep out fully the cold glass feed in.  When I opened it you can feel the very cold air between the shutters and glass rush in but still not effect the current temps.

Last month June 1 day hot spell the house temps went to to 28-30C, it quickly drop back to 20-21C in 2 days time.  The shutter man fitter told me that those shutters will keep your house very warm and in winter when heating cone on will warm up quickly and heating goes off. and stay off long time.
