Rain returning to parts of the UK

The mixed weather continues today. Many places have a bright start, but by the evening it turns wet in Northern Ireland and the south west. The changeable theme continues during the next few days with central and eastern Britain often having the driest and warmest weather.

Wednesday starts wet in parts of central and western Scotland. Elsewhere it is dry.

This morning the rain in the north clears to leave all of the UK dry and bright. During the afternoon heavy showers affect south western Britain and by early evening outbreaks of rain push into Northern Ireland. Other parts of the UK remain fine, although cloud amounts increase. 

Temperatures range from 13C (55F) in the far north west to 24C (75F) in the south east. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight an area of wet weather spreads northeastwards across the UK. Clearer conditions follow and by the morning the rain is likely to be restricted the south east and East Anglia.

Tomorrow morning showery rain continues to be a risk in the south east and East Anglia. Other regions should be dry and bright. In the afternoon the risk of rain transfers to the north west.

Showery outlook

Friday begins mostly dry. However, showery rain spreads northeastwards. In the west there could be some heavy and persistent spells.

Saturday is looking dry in southern and central Britain. In the north there is a chance of rain.

The mixed theme continues on Sunday. Southern and central counties perhaps remain dry and warm. The north may be quite cool with showers or longer periods of rain.
