Tonight, an area of rain pushes into Wales and western England. Elsewhere, most of the showers fade away, although some continue in northern and western Scotland.

Tomorrow, patchy outbreaks of rain push eastwards across southern and central regions. The northern half of Britain and Northern Ireland should remain mainly dry and bright. Breezy and rather cool.

Much warmer mid week

Wednesday is forecast to be mostly dry and bright. It will also be warmer than recently, and in the south temperatures could peak around 24C (75F).

Thursday is expected to be mostly fine and much warmer than recently. Temperatures reach the mid 20Cs in southern and central regions. However, by the late afternoon outbreaks of rain probably start pushing across Northern Ireland.

During Friday heavy and thundery outbreaks of rain in the northern half of the UK move away. All areas then have a good deal of dry weather, but there are likely to be showers in places. Not as warm as recently.
