Wet weather pushes northeastwards today, and things are looking very mixed through the coming week. Further spells of wet and windy weather are on the way, but it will be milder than it has been recently. In the longer term, some computer models are showing high pressure having more influence, at least for a time. Sunday begins wet in the south west. Elsewhere it is dry, and in the north and east there has been a widespread frost.
Through the day outbreaks of rain push northeastwards across much of the UK, although it is likely to remain dry in central and northern Scotland. The rain will be heavy at times, but drier conditions follow into Wales and the south west this afternoon. Quite windy.

Tonight, the rain in northern regions fades away, but another batch of wet weather pushes up from the south west. By the end of the night it is expected to be affecting Northern Ireland, Wales, and much of the south and west of England. Winds strengthen, with gales possible in exposed locations in southern and western coastal counties.
Tomorrow, the wet weather pushes northeastwards, and drier conditions follow into southern and central regions. By the late afternoon the rain will probably be focused on northern England and Scotland. It will be very windy and there is a risk of gales. Generally quite mild.
Tuesday is likely to bring heavy showers to northern and western areas. In the south and east it could be mostly dry. It remains quite mild, but blustery.
Wednesday is currently looking mixed. Sunny spells are likely in much of the UK, but showers are possible and there could be longer outbreaks of rain in the north east. later in the day wet and windy conditions may push into southern counties. Cooler than in recent days.
Thursday is forecast to be blustery and showery. Showers will be most frequent in the north and west, although early in the day there could be longer outbreaks of rain in the south and east.
