The unsettled weather continues today and through the weekend. All regions will see spells of rain at times so further flooding is likely. However, temperatures will generally be higher than recently, particularly in the south. Next week starts with more of the same, but there are indications of high pressure beginning to have more influence later on. Tonight, showery spells of rain in the northern half of the UK steadily ease. However, another area of heavy rain moves up from the southwest and by the end of the night it is likely to be affecting much of Wales, as well as southern and central England. It also becomes windy in the south west.
Tomorrow, heavy rain is expected in Northern Ireland and northern England. There could also be patchy outbreaks of rain in Scotland and central counties. In the south it should be mostly dry and sunny spells are likely. However, it will be very windy in southern and central Britain, with gales and severe gales in coastal counties. Rather mild, particularly in the south.
The unsettled conditions continue on Sunday. Outbreaks of rain spread northeastwards across most areas and over the Scottish mountains there could be sleet or snow. Drier conditions follow into the south and west. Quite windy. Mild in the southern half of the UK, but in the north temperatures will be close to the norm.
Monday is looking mixed. Showers are likely in the north east and later in the day outbreaks of rain may push up from the southwest. Rather mild.
The changeable theme continues on Tuesday. Showers or longer spells of rain are most likely in southern and central regions. The north may be colder and drier.
