The hot conditions have now been pushed away from all parts of the UK and things will be more mixed in the coming days. Nonetheless, there should still be a good deal of dry weather in southern Britain, with showers or longer spells of rain mostly in the north. (If you would like to browse the website without adverts and contribute to its ongoing development, explore the payment options, see below)

UK weather discussion

Southern and eastern counties of Britain have a dry and bright day. However, there will be showers in the west and in the north west they could be heavy and prolonged at times. A deep area of low pressure centred close to Iceland means that it will be windy, particularly in the northern half of the UK.

Temperatures range from 12°C in the far north west to 24°C in the south east. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight, showery spells of rain push eastwards across Wales and central England. There will also be further showers in the north west, but other areas remain dry.

Tomorrow, outbreaks of rain affect central Britain and there could be a few heavy bursts mixed in. To the south it stays dry and rather warm. In the north scattered showers continue, with most of them in western Scotland.

Driest and warmest in the south

During the first half of next week the mixed theme continues. Areas of low pressure will often be centred between Iceland and Scotland, with high pressure trying to build northeastwards from the Azores. Therefore, showers or longer spells of rain are most likely in the north, but it may not be completely dry in the south. Temperatures will often be close to the seasonal norm in the north, but it could be quite warm on some days in the south.
