Low pressure will be centred just to the north of the UK today. Therefore, heavy showers will be pushing into northern and western Scotland, possibly merging into longer periods of rain. Scattered showers are likely elsewhere, particularly in the north, but many places remain dry and bright. This afternoon cloud builds in Wales and the south west, with outbreaks of rain arriving by the evening.
Temperatures range from 12°C in the far north west to 21°C in the south east. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight, outbreaks of rain push eastwards across southern Britain. Showers continue in northern and western Scotland, but other parts of the UK should be dry.
Tomorrow, wet conditions in the south ease for a time, but further outbreaks of rain are likely later in the day. Northern and western areas have showers, particularly in the afternoon when they could turn heavy. The remaining parts of the UK stay mostly dry. Temperatures will be slightly lower than today's.

The forecast remains mixed for the next few days. The weekend is looking showery and rather cool. The showers may become heavy and thundery at times. Early next week temperatures probably start to rise, but the general picture is quite an unsettled one with areas of low pressure bringing an ongoing risk of showers or longer spells of rain.
