Unsettled weather will be the name of the game in the next few days. Today, central and northern regions have a mix of sunny spells and showers. In southern Britain there will be patchy outbreaks of rain, and later in the afternoon the rain turns heavier and more persistent in the south west.
Temperatures range from 13°C to 21°C. The highest values are likely in central Britain. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight, heavy bursts of rain move northwards over England and Wales. Showery conditions follow into the south west by the morning. In Scotland and Northern Ireland showers fade away to leave dry conditions.
Tomorrow, heavy outbreaks of rain continue to push northwards and eastwards. Drier conditions follow into much of England and Wales, but a good deal of cloud remains.

Southern regions will have drier conditions on Wednesday and Thursday. In central and northern parts of the UK heavy showery spells of rain gradually become lighter and more scattered as an area of low pressure pulls away northeastwards. Temperatures edge upwards in the south and in sunny spells it will feel warmer. Developments later in the week remain uncertain, but computer models are backing away from the idea of a settled period developing.
