The longer term weather prospects continue to look quite mixed, but during the next few days there will be a taste of summer in parts of the UK. By Friday temperatures could reach 30C in central and eastern and the heat may last into the weekend, but that is uncertain. The north west remains more unsettled. There will be a different feel to the weather in the next few days. Today, patchy outbreaks of rain push into the north west of the UK but in other areas it remains dry. Sunny spells develop and it will feel warmer than recently.
Temperatures range from 17°C in the far north west to 24°C in the south east. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight outbreaks of rain extend across much of Scotland and Northern Ireland. They turn heavy at times times, particularly in the west. England and Wales remain dry and quite warm.
Tomorrow, the risk of rain remains in the north west. The rest of the UK has a dry day with sunny periods. Temperatures continue to climb, with values widely pushing up towards the mid 20Cs in England and Wales. In London 27°C may be reached.

Very warm or hot conditions look likely on Friday and possibly Saturday, although the risk of heavy showers increases in the north and west as cooler air begins to return. In central and eastern counties of England temperatures may reach 30°C, or even a little higher. However, there is uncertainty and the cooler air could return more quickly, leading to cooler conditions on Saturday. By Sunday it is likely cooler in all areas, but mostly dry.
