Hot early next week

Temperatures climb during Monday and Tuesday, with hot conditions in southern and central regions. Temperatures in the south may reach 32C and it's possible the hottest day of the year so far will be recorded. Much of the UK has long sunny periods, but in the far north there is a risk of cloud and patchy rain.

Developments become more uncertain from Wednesday onwards. Thundery downpours may push northwards from France and there is possibility of cloud and rain starting to push in from the Atlantic as pressure falls.
