Outbreaks of rain turn patchier as they push southeastwards today. Another batch of wet and windy weather moves in from the west tonight, and tomorrow could bring severe gales to high ground in northern England. The mixed weather continues into the Bank Holiday weekend, but there are growing signs of very warm or hot weather developing next week. Tonight, further outbreaks of heavy rain spread across much of the UK. The worst conditions are likely to be in Northern Ireland, northern England and southern Scotland. It also becomes very windy in England and Wales, with severe gales possibly developing over northern hills. It is expected to stay mostly dry in the south east and East Anglia. Also, clearer skies return to much of the west by the morning.
Tomorrow, the remnants of the rain quickly pull away eastwards. In the south east and East Anglia, amounts of rain are likely to be small. Many places then have a dry day, but showery rain pushes into Northern Ireland and western Scotland through the afternoon.

Temperatures are likely to be on the low side. Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday are looking mostly dry, except in the north west where the risk of rain remains.
