The Bank Holiday weekend's weather roller coaster continues. After yesterday's deluge in the south, it's the turn of the north to get wet today. However, a reprieve is on the way with mostly dry conditions expected tomorrow across the UK. (If you would like to browse the website without adverts and contribute to its ongoing development, explore the payment options, see below)

Tonight the persistent rain clears eastwards. However, there will be showers in southern and western coastal counties.

Bank holiday Monday is expected to be dry and bright in most areas. Also, temperatures will be a little higher than recently and in the afternoon sunshine it should feel pleasant. However, outbreaks of rain push into Northern Ireland by the evening.

More settled in the south and east

The next few days bring a lot of dry and increasingly warm weather to southern, central and eastern areas. In the north west it remains more changeable, with a greater risk of showers or longer spells of rain. Computer models now suggest a hot period is less likely than previously thought. Nonetheless, temperatures could climb into the mid or even upper 20Cs in the south east and East Anglia through the middle of the week.
