Bank holiday Monday will be dry across much of the UK. The weather during the next couple of days will be quite mixed, but in central and eastern England it becomes very warm by Wednesday. Western coastal counties have a few showers today, but in most of the UK it will be dry with variable amounts of cloud. In sunny spells it will feel a little warmer than in recent days. However, by the end of the afternoon patchy outbreaks of rain will be pushing into Northern Ireland.

Temperatures range from 12°C in the far north west to 23°C in the south east. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight heavy outbreaks of rain spread across Northern Ireland, Scotland and north western England. Elsewhere, it remains dry.

Tomorrow, the outbreaks of rain in the north edge southeastwards. By the late afternoon, wet conditions are likely in western Wales and northern England. Drier conditions return to much of Scotland and Northern Ireland, although scattered showers are likely. Southern, central and eastern areas of England will be dry, bright and warm.

High pressure building later in the week

Patchy rain will linger in western and northern England on Wednesday, while central and eastern areas experience very warm, possibly even hot temperatures. Cooler conditions will gradually spread eastward on Thursday, followed by increasingly settled weather as high pressure builds over the UK in the days ahead.
