Outbreaks of rain push southeastwards today, reaching the south west, Wales and northern England this afternoon. Ahead of them it will be dry and warm. Tomorrow is likely to be the warmest day of the week in southern and eastern England, with temperatures possibly reaching the upper 20Cs. Later in the week high pressure becomes more dominant, leading to dry weather in much of the UK. Outbreaks of rain in the north west will be heavy this morning. Through the day they become patchier as they edge southeastwards, but there will still be heavy bursts mixed in. By the late afternoon rain is likely to be focused on the south west, Wales and northern England. To the southeast it remains dry and warm in sunny spells. Areas to the northwest become mostly dry, although showers are likely in western Scotland.

Tonight, the band of patchy rain doesn't move a great deal, so much of central and eastern England remains dry. In the north west another area of rain pushes in from the Atlantic.
Tomorrow, outbreaks of rain continue to affect Northern Ireland and northern Britain. Elsewhere it will become dry, after early rain in the west eases. Very warm in central and eastern England where temperatures could reach 28°C.

During the next few days high pressure gradually builds across the UK. To begin with, there could be showery rain in the north and west, but in the south and east it will be dry. The more settled conditions extend across all areas by Friday and at this stage Saturday is looking fine. However, there are indications of showers pushing into the south on Sunday.
