Tomorrow they continue drifting northwards, and the early part of next week is looking quite unsettled. (If you would like to browse the website without adverts and contribute to its ongoing development, explore the payment options, see below)

UK weather discussion

Virtually all of the UK will remain dry today, due to an area of high pressure continuing to dominate. However, the high pressure is drifting northeastward, and later this afternoon there is a chance of scattered but heavy showers in the southwest. Cloud cover varies, with the brightest conditions likely in central and northern areas

Temperatures range from 17°C in the far north to 23°C in the south. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight, heavy and thundery showers move northwards across southern and central regions. They will be hit and miss, but there is the potential for heavy rain in places. The northern half of the UK remains dry.

Tomorrow, the showers push up into northern Britain. In the south it turns drier and where sunny spells develop it becomes very warm.

Mixed weather early next week

During the early part of next week, areas of low pressure may bring heavy showers and longer spells of rain to much of the country. However, the rain is expected to be patchy, and in sunny spells it could be very warm for a time in central and eastern counties of England. By the middle of the week, there is a lot of uncertainty about developments, but high pressure will probably be building back in from the west.
