Thundery downpours affect southern Britain today, but like yesterday they will be hit and miss. Tomorrow, heavy and potentially disruptive rain is likely to become more widespread in southern and central regions. The first half of next week is looking unsettled, but it is likely to be turning colder in the north. Heavy and thundery showers continue to affect southern Britain today. They will be hit and miss, but there is the potential for large rain totals to bring surface flooding and travel disruption. In the north it will be another dry day, with the best of the sunny periods in the west.
Temperatures range from 15°C in the north east to 24°C in East Anglia. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight, heavy and thundery outbreaks of rain push northwards across southern and central regions. In the north it remains dry with variable amounts of cloud.
Tomorrow, very wet conditions are likely in much of England and Wales, with heavy and thundery bursts of rain becoming widespread. Scotland and Northern Ireland remain dry.

The first half of next week is looking very mixed, with several areas of low pressure close to the UK. Therefore, all regions can expect showers or longer spells of rain which are likely to be heavy at times. Temperatures will be dropping in the north and during the second half of the week the colder air is expected to push down into southern counties.
