UK weather discussion

Heavy outbreaks of rain affect much of England and Wales today. The heaviest bursts are likely to become focused on Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, central England and southern Wales this afternoon. The rain will lead to further flooding and travel disruption. Drier conditions will develop to the south, although a few heavy showers may develop. Areas to the north will be mostly dry, with the exception of northern Scotland where showery outbreaks of rain develop this afternoon.

Temperatures range from 11°C in the north east to 19°C in the south east and East Anglia. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

More heavy rain on the way

During the middle of the week another area of low pressure tracks across central parts of the UK. It brings the likelihood of heavy rain to southern and central regions. The northern half of Scotland probably remains mostly dry and rather cold. Through Friday and into the weekend the colder conditions steadily push southwards. Frost may become widespread on some nights in the north.
