Outbreaks of rain clear from the south today, with colder and brighter conditions following from the north. The weekend starts dry and chilly, but during Sunday wet and windy conditions are expected to begin spreading northeastwards. A change in the weather takes place today. Outbreaks of rain slowly clear southern Britain, although they are likely to linger in the south eastern corner well into the afternoon. Brighter conditions follow from the north, but there will be scattered showers and over the Scottish mountain they could fall as snow.
Cold and windy. Temperatures range from 7°C in the far north to 13°C in the south. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight, showers continue in the north. However, clear periods develop widely and temperatures plunge. A widespread ground frost develops and in some locations temperatures could dip below freezing point.
Tomorrow, showers continue in the north and especially the north west. In southern and central regions it remains dry. After a cold start temperatures struggle.

After a dry start on Sunday, cloud, rain and strong winds begin pushing in from the southwest. There is uncertainty about their progression, and it could stay dry in northern and eastern Britain. Early next week begins on a very unsettled note, with wet and windy conditions affecting much of the UK. There are signs of it turning more settled, at least for a time, by Wednesday.
