An area of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic will bring another spell of unsettled weather to the UK. Today, outbreaks of rain push in from the southwest, but in much of northern and eastern Britain it remains dry. Through tonight and tomorrow the rain becomes more widespread, leading to a risk of more flooding. Tonight, outbreaks of rain spread across much of the country. The heaviest of them are likely to be in southern and central regions, leading to the chance of flooding in places. Gales are possible in western and southern coastal counties.
Tomorrow, an area of low pressure will be slow moving over central areas of the UK. Therefore, further showers and longer outbreaks of rain are likely in most areas. Some heavy bursts of rain are expected to lead to further flooding. Generally rather cool, but if bright intervals develop in the south east it could feel quite warm.
UK Met UKV, Monday 30th September [Tap animation to toggle cities]
The next few days see drier weather returning as an area of high pressure builds over the UK. However, further showery spells of rain are likely in the south and east to begin with as the area of low pressure responsible for the unsettled period pulls away. By Friday the risk of rain starts to increase again, especially in the north and west.
