Tonight cloud and patchy spells of rain push into the far north west. The rest of the UK remains dry and clear periods allow temperatures to drop quite sharply. Ground frost may develop in favoured locations.

Tomorrow outbreaks of rain continue in Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Other areas have a dry day, with the sunnies conditions likely to be in central and southern England.

Unsettled weather steadily returns

During the weekend low pressure begins to push in from the west. It leads to an increasing risk of wet and windy conditions. Forecast details are uncertain, but the wettest conditions are likely to be in the west. A southwesterly wind means temperatures should be higher than in recent days.
