Tonight outbreaks of rain spreads northwards across much of England and Wales. There will be some heavy bursts mixed in, although by the morning they will be turning more showery. Patchy spells of rain continue in Scotland.
Tomorrow an area of low pressure will be centred close to south western England. It brings the risk of showery bursts of rain to much of the UK. The heaviest ones are expected to be in southern and central regions. Temperatures will be similar to today's.
UK Met UKV, Tuesday 8th October [Tap animation to toggle cities]
Over the next couple of days there's a possibility of showers or longer spells of rain to all regions, but there should be dry and bright periods too. Through Wednesday and Thursday there is a risk of very heavy spells of rain pushing into the far south and south east as the remnants of Hurricane Kirk approach. However, most computer model runs are showing it tracking to the south of the UK. At the same time colder Arctic air will be pushing southwards down across the north of the UK, so temperatures will be starting to take a dip.
