Low pressure centred over south western Britain keep things unsettled today. Heavy and thundery showers develop in England and Wales, but some places miss them and there will be bright spells too. In any afternoon sunshine it feels warm.
In Scotland and Northern Ireland a band of wet weather moves northwards. There will be heavy bursts of rain at times, but they become more showery this afternoon.
Temperatures range from 12°C in the north to 18°C in the south east. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

UK Met UKV, Wednesday 9th October [Tap animation to toggle cities]
On Thursday a band of patchy rain clears southwards to leave all of the UK under a cold Arctic air mass. showers over high ground in the north are likely to have a wintry flavour. An area of low pressure is expected to track eastwards close to northern Scotland on Friday. Weather fronts associated with it will bring some outbreaks of rain to northern areas. The weekend is looking mainly dry as high pressure builds, but there is the potential for cold nights and frost will be a risk, particularly in the north.
