Outbreaks of rain also affect the north west of the UK. Other areas have a dry day, with the brightest conditions in northern and south western England and Wales. Gales are possible in the north for a time, but winds will be steadily easing.

UK Met UKV, Tuesday 22nd October [Tap animation to toggle cities]
During Wednesday an area of high pressure builds from the south. It leads to mostly dry conditions and they are likely to continue in much of the UK on Thursday, but there is some uncertainty. A disturbance will be trying to push in from the Atlantic, therefore in Northern Ireland and western Britain the risk of showers or longer spells of rain increases. There is the potential for very wet and windy conditions on Friday and Saturday.
