Issued 22nd October 2024
High pressure centred to the east of the UK continues to be the main influence on the weather today. There is fog in places this morning, particularly southern and central regions. It steadily lifts to leave dry and bright conditions. In the north west it is breezier and there are some patchy outbreaks of rain. They continue to be a risk throughout the day.
Temperatures range from 11°C to 16°C. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight there will be further patchy spells of rain in the north west. By the morning they are likely to be turning heavier in the Western Isles and the west of Northern Ireland. In other areas it remains dry, but stronger winds mean fog won't form widely.
Tomorrow it remains dry in most of the UK and in sunny spells it will feel pleasantly warm. During the afternoon and evening outbreaks of rain slowly edge push further into Northern Ireland and the north west of Britain.

Small areas of low pressure remain close by during the next two days. Therefore, there will be showers or longer spells of rain in places, but also dry and bright periods. Temperatures will be lower than recently and close to the late October norm. On Sunday a band of rain is expected to push southeastwards, becoming increasingly fragmented as it does.
