High pressure will dominate the weather this week and quite possibly next week too. There will be some patchy rain around, particularly early on. However, mostly dry conditions are expected and temperatures will be above the norm for much of the time. (If you would like to browse the website without adverts and access premium features, see below)

Not much changes tonight. Overcast, mild and damp really sums it up.

Tomorrow the chance of sunny spells increases. There will be scattered light showers in southern and central regions, and patchy outbreaks of rain in northern Scotland. In other areas it remains dry. Mild, particularly in areas where the sun breaks through the cloud.

Settled weather ahead

Through the next few days high pressure builds northwards across the UK. Therefore, the risk of rain increasingly becomes restricted to the north west. Temperatures will depend on cloud cover, but computer models are signalling the likelihood of it being very mild. However, fog could be a problem and by the weekend it is expected to turn somewhat colder, leading to a risk of frost.
