The mist starts to descend on Halloween. Posted by Brian Gaze

High pressure is expected to keep the weather mostly settled through the first and possibly second weeks of November. There will be day to day variations, particularly in terms of cloud amounts. Nonetheless, rain amounts are likely to be very small away from the north west where it could be more unsettled at times. (If you would like to browse the website without adverts and access premium features, see below)

Settled start to November

November begins where October left off, with high pressure dominating the weather. However, there are a few differences, most notably a weak frontal system is pushing southwards across Scotland. It brings patchy outbreaks of rain and to its north there is colder air, so temperatures will be dipping. In the rest of the UK it's another dry day and early mist lifts to leave variable amounts of cloud.

Temperatures range from 6°C in the far north to 15°C in the south. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight will be overcast and drizzly conditions develop quite widely. Very mild, with temperatures remaining in double figures in much of the southern half of the UK.

Tomorrow it's a similar picture. A few bright spells could develop, but many places remain overcast and there will be drizzle at times.

Brighter spells more likely by Sunday

By Sunday temperatures dip a little and the chance of sunny spells increases. Little changes for most areas on Tuesday and Wednesday; however, in the north west there is a possibility of rain. Patchy fog continues to be a risk, particularly in southern and central areas.
