Snow risk in the north

Much of the UK starts dry and bright. However, there are showers in the west and north, and in Scotland they are bringing a wintry mix. Through the day showers increasingly fall as snow in Scotland. Significant accumulations are possible in the northern half, especially over high ground. Showers also turn wintry in northern England.

In Northern Ireland showery outbreaks of rain develop this morning and they steadily push southeastwards across Wales and central England. In much of the south it remains dry until the evening.

Afternoon temperatures range from 3°C in northern Scotland to 12°C in south western England. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.
