All parts of the UK have another cold day. There will be further wintry showers for a time, but a change is on the way. Cloud builds from the southwest and during the next 48 hours much milder air returns northeastwards. Cold but turning cloudier

A change in the weather is on the way, but it remains cold today. Wintry showers continue in coastal counties and there could be a few in central and southern England for a time. After a bright start, cloud builds from the southwest.

Cold or very cold in most of the UK with temperatures ranging from -1°C in northern Scotland to 6°C near to the south coast. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight wet and very windy weather pushes across Northern Ireland and much of western Britain. Snow is likely on its leading edge in the north and over high ground in Wales. Eastern Britain remains dry and frosty.

Tomorrow will be very unsettled due to Storm Bert. Heavy outbreaks of rain and strong winds are likely in all areas, with severe gales in coastal counties. Heavy snow is likely in northern England and Scotland for a time, but as it milder air returns much of it will turn back to rain. Temperatures could reach 16C in the south west, but in Scotland and north eastern England it remains cold.

Unsettled weather

During Sunday outbreaks of rain probably continue in central areas, East Anglia and the south east. Other areas have a mix of sunny spells and blustery showers. Very mild in central and eastern England. 

Early next week showery conditions are develop in all areas after outbreaks of rain clear from the south east. Temperatures dip back towards the average.
