Issued 19th November 2024
The very unsettled weather continues today. Heavy outbreaks of rain gradually push eastwards across southern and central counties. Areas to their north and west have brighter spells, but there will be heavy showers, particularly in the north west.
It will be very windy in southern, central and eastern England, as well as the north west of the UK. Gusts of around 60mph are possible in southern England and near the south coast they could reach 70mph. The combination of strong winds and heavy rain is expected to lead to disruption.
In much of southern, central and eastern England it will be exceptionally mild for late November, with 17°C* being reached in a number of locations. In the north maximums will be between 8°C to 10°C in the south west. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.
* 17.6°C was recorded at Brize Norton in Oxfordshire this morning.
