Think tomorrows update may drop back to 17.3 as last night was a bit cooler?

Yes only 12.0C on the CET minimum this morning and with the mean at 17.37C it could slip back to 17.3C tomorrow.

Mean temp: 14.9C
Warmest day: 22.7C 3rd

Even though we've had a much cooler, cloudier day here generally, we have had the odd sunny spell that has raised the temp considerably, albeit very briefly, but it has made a considerable difference to my mean.

I think I'm going to be quite happy with my July prediction, of 17.5c

I wonder if tomorrow might drop back to 17.2? Its pretty cloudy and chilly here at the moment, but last night was quite mild at 13c, so probably no change on tomorrows update?

Not sure about tomorrows value Gavin, its very much cooler here today, and if that is reflected within the CET area there could be another drop. Its getting to the business part of the month now, and I think the next 2/3 days will be interesting for us both.

Well, I'm going to be a bit under the final outcome, but I'm just relieved I'll be within 1c of the final number after the disasterous predictions in May and June.

Well I have to agree that so far this year, all the months have been difficult to predict, particularly if you are basing your entry on the models( if you pardon the expression)

Best of luck with the rest of the year.

Cheers Doug.

Pretty chilly here tonight, got a feeling we're going to see single figure minima tonight, so we could be down at 17.1 by Saturday's update? Then a rise for a final day means we end at 17.2 before adjustments?

I think it will stay at 17.3C. The minimum this morning was a little higher at 13.3C. The maximum will probably come in around 19C or possibly a little lower. The mean is currently at 17.32C and will probably fall to about 17.27C or 17.28C.

Well Dougie, you're been a bit up and down this month but it looks like you were right to re-think your prediction, yet only a couple of weeks ago I was saying you'd regret it!  You will end up very close yet again!

8.2c here last night, easily the coldest night of the month! Could well drop the CET on tomorrows update, but then tonight and tomorrow should see a rise.

Looks like it will end up at 17.4c. Tonight is looking like being a warm night in the CET area.

Does the CET ever get pushed up a bit after adjustments or is it normally down ?

There is a good chance it will fall to 17.2C today as it was a little cooler last night at 12.0C. May well go back up to 17.3C tomorrow.

The month end adjustments are normally down but not always. I have seen it go the other way. The adjustments for the past two months have been especially large though in the negative direction.

This year's month end adjustments so far have been as follows:-

Jan  -0.25C
Feb  -0.08C
Mar  -0.03C
Apr   -0.25C
May  -0.49C
Jun  -0.40C
