He forecast thundery, blustery showers with hail, heavy downpours and local flash floods in the south.  Well so have the metoffice - well they have said thundery showers.

He said the north would have hail and wintry showers – including snow on Scottish mountains as the temperatures dives. Wintery on the peaks of the highest scottish moutains maybe but hail isnt unusual.

But by the middle of the month it is expected to heat up while next week southern areas could have a short heat-wave, he said.  Well its kinda confusing ramble this.

A thunderstorm can be described as being ‘severe’ when one or more of a number of criteria is met. The winds gusts have to reach or exceed 57.5mph (92kph), hail greater than 19.1mm (0.75 inches) in diameter is produced or tornadoes have to be generated.

And he'll continue to peddle his forecasts just as long as the gutter press/'media' soak it up and regurgitate it as 'fact'.

But *he* doesn't gain any publicity. Not as far as the general public is concerned, anyway. If you ask Joe Public they'll say it was "the weathermen" that said it would snow this week and "they" got it wrong "as always". All Piers does is make the public think all forecasters are useless, because his drivel gets blurred together with proper forecasts in the media.
