Moderate hail shower just moved hrough, everything has a whitish haze, but not a proper covering.

Anyway

Temp has dropped from 3.1 to 1.5*c as a result. I think anything else that falls from showers hereon might be a bit more wintry becuase of that

Snowing in Newbury now - with big flakes. Ground too wet to settle though.

Only had rain and rain showers here in Worcestershire.

Even Clee Hill (which we can see from our home) is still green - usually in marginal situations, it is white on top even when the lower land around it is not.

P.S. I am not looking at the models at the moment - since the failed easterly, I have lost all faith (and I mean ALL) in their output beyond T+96 (treat T+120 and T+144 as strict FI).

P.S. I am looking at the Fax charts however - I still have some faith in them.

My wife reports it's "snowing hard" in High Wycombe.

My colleague reports it's "proper snow" in the western part of Basingstoke.

Here in the middle, it's raining.  Temperature is dropping though, down to 3.0C now.

2-4 inches up above Glossop, 1-3 inches in garden where it first laid from this morning... hoping for a little bit more later but think it’s going to go Cheshire/Staffordshire way...
Was in Kent but since 2013 Glossop Derbyshire at 300m

Very murky with mod. to heavy snow continuing - winds calm atm and really aiding the evaporative cooling process. Temp. now down to 0.2 C.

Just been looking at the satellite output and there is an interesting phenomenon as the front which passed over last night reaches the Mediterranean - when it reaches the warm water you can see an instant intensification of the cloud height - cold front over warm water = surge of moisture into the cloud base.

Just very light snow falling now in calm conditions, not sure if my temp. sensor is reading correctly, but it's at -0.6 C !? It is covered - so no super-cooled precip. hitting it but there may be condensation on it that has cooled to below zero - acting a bit like a wet bulb? Slow thaw and pavements just have a slight slushy covering now.

LOL! Weren't more southerly-dwelling people whining about snow from a NW feed being no use to them as it never gets that far inland? Well, seems you've got more snow that us in NW England.

NW England dont really have a favourable wind direction when it comes to snow.

At the moment I'm 12m NNE of Swindon, Wilts. in the Thames Valley. It's been alternating between rain and sleet this afternoon - currently rain.

The MetO website nowcast for my location tells me I should be enjoying heavy snow right now

Humble pie for some today.

We're in a gap in showers now. Unfortunately the forecasts have changed for tonight and I think there's a stronger chance of a drier evening (with shower activity more limited to West Cheshire).

I think we may have had our lot.

I know everyone feels hard done to in winter and like they get no snow but I've decided that MBY is the least snowy place in Britain .

It's cold and blue at the moment. Had 2 snow showers today. The first was decent lasting about half an hour but not really sticking. The 2nd was weedy. Nothing else on the radar, nothing else forecast
