Snow still hanging on in shaded areas for the fifth day. Lots of mist over the snowy fields and still half-frozen ponds. Or put another way we have now had snow on the ground for the whole of February ;)
PS That’s a fascinating read John, thanks for posting!
Foggy earlier this morning so I couldn't see the hills on the other side of the valley. As the fog lifted it was a ghostly picture as they and the remains of the snow emerged.
Just to add to the satellite views that had been posted before, this is a zoomable map and you can change the date with the slider at the bottom. Feb 2 gives a nice clear view of the snow cover. The streamers from the east coast across Lincolnshire show up nicely too.Click here
Opened the door to let dog in and surprised to see the place turning white. Where did this come from??
Did you go Upper Ramsbottom?

North Staffordshire is so lovely in early spring.
Down on Dartmoor at the moment and was hoping to see a few final flakes up on a Tor tomorrow, however far less shower activity now forecast so looks like that has gone down the pan lol.
Sleet here in the last half hour.
Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere. A report of 'snow rollers' in a field in Wiltshire, complete with astonishing photos and a commentary from Ian Fergusson.

Extraordinary. Had to check the date that it wasn't the first of April.
