I get the impression reading on here I am not alone! My own examples are:-

  1. When I played cricket it always rained on a Sunday. Since I retired it never does.

  2. When I played football the games were often called off due to waterlogged pitches. Most winters are quite dry here now.

  3. Since I started astrophotography last year it is always cloudy at night.

  4. Whenever I go on holiday, even abroad, the heatwave always vanishes

  5. Whenever I go to Cornwall it rains, despite vast improvements in West Country weather in recent years!

  6. It never snows, even when it is predicted to.

I guess I am just one of those people whose water butt is always half empty

I've just spent a week in Kefalonia in Greece.

In the three weeks before arriving, every single day had a maximum of 31C to 36C, with sunny and dry weather. During the week I was there, every day failed to better 29C. Three out of the six full days I spent there were cloudy, and on one day it poured with rain all afternoon. It was warm and sunny at home in Berkshire, in fact warmer than Kefalonia on at least two days.

I'm now back home, the weather in Kefalonia has improved, and here at home we've had 11.1mm of rain.

To answer the OP question... "All too bloody often!!"

It's most noticeable when you have an event on and, once in range, you follow the MO. The number of times it will look good/OK right up until a couple of days before, then *bam* the output will lurch and suddenly it's going to be raining.

PS - why is this thread in the 'Classic Thread' section? I dare say it's got potential, but after only 3 posts, it's a bit presumptuous!!
