What a dull Cup tie ManU vs Liverpool has been. Can't see Liverpool coming back from this. The more things change, the more they stay the same i.e. Lucas still can't pass.

Let battle commence (with Liverpool) for an excellent player.

You may yet get a free run for Suarez as we are apparently after Cavani too. God forbid, if we got those two (which we won't) it would be game, set and match for everyone else in the PL this year.

Phew(ish), neither Helen Keller Coward Webb nor Clattenburg will be refereeing Sunday's game against Utd - so we have a chance of winning. Instead it will be Mike Dean.

They say every picture tells a story. Well let's hope Old Baconface gets this irate.

So Blackpool are beating Liverpool 2-1 right now in the Prem League, while Arsenal are 1-0 down away to Ipswich in the Carling Cup............this season has to be the strangest in living memory

So how will Liverpool's change of manager impact the performance of the team in their next not the easiest of fixtures?

Blackpool complete the double over Liverpool by winning 2-1 tonight.

Who would have guessed that happening at the start of the season?

FT: Blackpool 2-1 Liverpool. Yes there have been some strange dips in form this season, notably Chelsea of course, and some strange results throughout the Premiership but Liverpool of course have never really got going at all. Make no mistake though this is a disastrous result for Liverpool ............. no disrespect to Blackpool but beaten home and away.........truly awful

Rather nasty piece in tonight's Standard. Starts off innocently enough before the knives come out.

I am starting to think that Liverpool could go down this season. They have a really tough run in with games against Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal and Tottenham.

You have to ask yourself if there are three teams that are palpably worse than Liverpool. Well clearly West Ham are. Then it gets interesting.

What was it they said about Lehman Bros? Too big to go down?

The problem with Liverpool is a lack of belief in the squad and a team that needs investment. the money needs to be given to a manager who knows how to spot talented young players and develop them, there is no quick fix because even if they had reasonable funds they cannot attract the top players because they are not a force in Europe. Even if the current group of players were in form and fulfilling their potential I doubt they would break into the top 4.

Although I never want Liverpool above United it is a real shame you aren't battling it out with us.

Lol, Benzema to Villa if Adebayour moves to Real on loan. Mind you - a very dodgy source (Mirror)

If true, that's another team that'll finish above Liverpool.

At this rate the bin dippers will run out of teams to finish above. - bar West Ham of course.

I know these figures are quite old, but they are interesting nonetheless.
