Excellent piece by Lawton. Forget the Liverpool pity party derby, the important game this weekend is Spurs vs Manure. A Spurs victory will save a mediocre EPL season and be good for many concerned - bar Manure fans of course.

Must win games for the chasing pack this weekend !! Spurs have a game on their hands playing Man U. I expect Man U to stifle midfield and allow Spurs plenty of the ball, but Man U very dangerous on the break possibly a smash n grab by the Reds.

You may well be right regarding United stifling the Spurs midfield. They'll double up on Bale, but of course that'll create space elsewhere. If they're to win they're going to have to keep Bale, Modric and VDV quiet. That's a big ask.

I know these figures are quite old, but they are interesting nonetheless.

The one that immediately struck me was Fulham.

Man U will pack the midfield prob with Carrick Fletcher and Anderson in the middle with Nani and Giggs wide and a lone striker i Rooney (if fit).

Good results for the chasing pack today....Chelsea Chiteh and Arsenal all winning.

Rumours have been knocking about that it may be Martin Jol.

Talking of managers being treated disgracefully Grant is getting off lightly compared to what happened to Jol - texted by a pal of his close to half time (during an UEFA Cup match) informing him that ITV had announced he had been sacked.

Very interesting Brian.  I do think M O'Neil is his 'own man'.  He doesn't seem to take crap of the directors etc.  I think he would be good at WHU because of this.  Apart from the fact he is a fine coach.  But without quality, what can you do?

lets be fair to Wayne Bridge though, he has played one full game in th epre this year, he was terribly short of match fitness, your first full 90 minutes for many months with Theo Wallcott as an opponent is a tough start.

I hope o'Neill doesn't take the job, it will serve the Brady bunch right

Torres up for this game - class player; Liverpool edging out Everton.  Mind you, Everton are still in is and I can't believe they won't play better in the second half.
