Interestingly, the clouds and wind on the top of the Downs were blowing from the south, but the cold pool down below was drifting the other way into the gaps in the ridge.
Skylarks and buzzards aplenty, not to mention LBJs in the hedgerows; this was the only one (a skylark) which sat still long enough to be photographed.
