If you can't work from home you should now be encouraged to return to work

Even with the increase in testing being attributed to that rise, infections are clearly not going down, plateauing if anything and that at the moment isn't good enough.

Not at one point did Boris make clear much of what he said applies only to England. BBC Scotland immediately left the BBC News Special on BBC 1 with the statement "That statement you heard from the PM applies almost exclusively to england".

Consulted and discussed with opposistion and all nations of the UK - what bull.

So is it just construction back to work? Office workers I sensed July?

Delighted that my daughter (year 6) can hopefully get back to school to spend a few weeks with her friends before the big step to high school....

So that – all told - we are testing literally hundreds of thousands of people every day."

Line two follows line one, and it's pretty obvious that's the case.

You must be very disappointed.

Well I thought it was pretty good considering where we are at this point in time. We know what the mistakes have been and hopefully his plan will work. In terms of a speech, nobody else would have delivered it as well, irrespective of what you think of the content.

I thought there was quite a lot of conciliatory stuff in there as well. I didn't much care  for "And if we are to control this virus, then we must have a world-beating system for testing potential victims, and for tracing their contacts." Why do we always have to beat everybody else ? I want a high standard testing system that works equally well for everybody in this World.

I think the government were surprised by how many takeaways etc closed up along with construction when they can all actively remain open

They obviously want construction and manufacturing to get underway again to get the economy going again
